Getting Married at Camp Hale

For their Colorado wedding day, Christy and Rob wanted the polar opposite of Miami (no sweating please)! Camp Hale is a mountain wedding venue outside of Vail, Colorado that was the perfect destination for that. 

One of the most unique features of Camp Hale is the island where Christy and Rob had their first look and their ceremony. There’s nothing like being surrounded by the water and the mountains at this venue! 

Christy and Rob designed a day that was fun, yet laid back and focused on the love they have for each other. They wanted it to be about who they really are with each other, NOT about what other people wanted it to be. From the music they chose, the food, the colors, and more, they were intentional about creating a wedding that was true to them. Brynn of First Look Events helped Christy and Rob choose vendors that brought their dream wedding day to life and kept their priorities at the top of mind! 

One of the most incredible details of Christy and Roby’s wedding was the ombre color scheme they incorporated into things!  Purple, red, orange, yellow, and white florals and decor created the ombre punch of color in the flowers of their ceremony arch and the tablescapes at the reception! I’ve never seen ombre colors used like this at a wedding and was obsessed with how everything looked!  

Wedding Advice

Christy shared advice for other couples in the middle of wedding planning and it’s too good not to share. Christy says,  

“One piece of advice I think is absolutely invaluable (and doesn’t really make sense until you’re IN IT) is to NOT let people separate you during that day, to stay physically with each other, experience it all together, feel the joy together, dance together, tell the team you’re working with that you want time to just be with each other alone on that day. I didn’t realize how much I would appreciate that, and I’m so glad Brynn built that into the day. It was my favorite part.”

Seeing and documenting Christy and Roby’s wedding day brought SO many happy tears. I feel like I’ve known these two my entire life. They immediately make you feel like family the second you meet them. This is a wedding day I want to play on repeat over and over again!
