Magical Winter Devils Thumb Ranch Wedding

January 15, 2025

Maria and Chris’s Devils Thumb Ranch wedding was a weekend planned with intentionality, and overflowing with love and laughter. My time spent celebrating and capturing Maria and Chris’s journey began in the hours leading up to their vows. During their wedding rehearsal and the dinner that followed, I had a front-row seat to what was in store for the weekend.

Their rehearsal, above all, focused on bonding activities that allowed Maria and Chris to be fully present and in the company of their guests. Watching and experiencing this approach left me excited for what was to come when their wedding day arrived.

True to form, Maria and Chris kept togetherness at the center of each element of their Devils Thumb Ranch wedding day. The morning began with Chris focused on a wellness routine. With a group of friends at his side, they took part in a cold plunge. Of course, I was present for this to capture their laughter, smiles, winces, and the overall experience.

From there, Maria and Chris took a quiet morning stroll together in order to connect. It’s not uncommon for couples to connect on their wedding day before joining their guests. But more often than not, it’s done through a first look. It was beautiful and intentional to see Maria and Chris take time for each other in a way that was true who they are and the love they share.

After they connected, Maria and her friends enjoyed early morning yoga with the warmth of the rising sun filling the room. When Maria arrived at her yoga mat, she was overwhelmed with joy to see that Chris left her a card and a single rose. A beautiful gesture that brought the biggest smile to her face. With the morning stroll and their wellness routines behind them, they each headed off to get dressed for their Devils Thumb Ranch wedding day.

When Maria arrived at her getting-ready suite she was greeted with yet another sweet surprise from Chris. A recorded video with a heartfelt message for her to watch, as she was getting ready. Their next moment together would take place during their first look when Chris hand delivered flowers to his bride! This thoughtful touch left Maria overflowing with gratitude and love for her very soon-to-be husband.

For Maria and Chris, planning their Devils Thumb Ranch wedding was an easy choice. The ranch resort (and spa!) is filled with endless amenities for couples seeking a wedding day filled with as much intentionality as Maria and Chris hoped for. Additionally, the ranch pairs an upscale experience with its eco-forward ideals, making it a desirable wedding venue just a short drive outside Denver.

The ranch is an all-in-one wedding day experience with an idyllic outdoor ceremony space to host your vows. Though Maria and Chris’s Devils Thumb Ranch wedding took place in the winter, they included some extra amenities to keep their guests warm. Warm throws and delicious hot beverages were waiting for their guests as they made their way down the aisle. Highlighting it all, as the backdrop to their vows, was a peaceful, scenic view of the Rocky Mountains.

The celebration that awaited the newlyweds included a rockin’ live band that kept the dance floor packed all night, and a room full of love. Their Devils Thumb Ranch wedding was crafted with pure intention and overflowing with joy.
