Katie and Nick’s Broadmoor Wedding Colorado was an inspired wedding weekend filled with stunning details and amazing vibes. Undoubtedly, Katie and Nick are two of the most incredible souls. Watching them come together in love for a weekend filled with delightful elements was an amazing experience.
The overall vision for their rehearsal dinner & wedding at The Broadmoor was rooted in soft femininity and a heavy dose of whimsy. They drew inspiration from the opulence and grandeur of Marie Antoinette, leaning into delicate garden details, tying their creativity together with modern decor.
Rehearsal Dinner at The Broadmoor – Spooky & Sweet Trivia Night with Friends
The weekend of celebrations began with a rehearsal dinner at The Broadmoor, displaying Katie and Nick’s distinctive point of view. The couple brought together friends and family for a night of trivia, with a sweet but spooky twist.
The decor for the evening was the first touch point of their wedding day vision. Soft pastels were introduced with delicate florals placed in bud vases. The dining table was lined with luxurious gold candelabras. Accenting the florals and softly lit candles were pastel-painted pumpkins, gold skulls, and skeletal hands. There were custom-themed graphics depicting ghosts welcoming guests to the party and displaying the drink menu at the bar for the evening.
Katie and Nick’s attire for the evening was the final touchpoint that brought the evening together. In a gorgeous, frilly, vintage-style gown, Katie worked with her makeup artist to create a look directly inspired by Chappell Roan. She completed her pre-wedding look with a shoulder-length veil embellished with tiny bows. Meanwhile, Nick wore a beautiful pink suit embroidered with white ballerinas.

Broadmoor Wedding Colorado – Outdoor Ceremony Overlooking the Water
Overall, Katie and Nick were drawn to the idea of using a palette of airy pastels accented by small bursts of brighter hues, which reflected their vibrant personalities. This approach was seen at their Broadmoor wedding Colorado outdoor ceremony, where they exchanged vows directly overlooking the water.
Guest chairs were adorned with delicate, trailing bows in varying shades of pastel tones. The theming of sweet surprises was dually seen in the floral arrangements set against either side of the aisle. Lamb-shaped planters were used to house florals in soft, creamy shades of pink, green, and white, setting the scene for an unforgettable union.
As avid readers, Katie and Nick looked for ways to pay homage to one of their favorite pastimes through their wedding day decor. The first manifestation of this idea was seen in their floral arch, which served as the focal point for their wedding ceremony. Vintage tomes were used to add depth and texture to their wedding arch, infusing it with a piece of Katie and Nick’s personalities, creating a one-of-a-kind arbor, where Katie and Nick were joined together in marriage.

Broadmoor Hotel Wedding Reception Filled with Inspired Details
The couple’s take on bookish touches continued through to their reception. In lieu of traditional escort cards, a curated selection of books awaited guests, guiding them to their table for the evening and providing them with a small piece of Katie and Nick’s heart to take home and cherish in honor of the bride and groom.
Drawing on Katie and Nick’s playful nature, their bookshelf was accented by Calico Critters. These fuzzy, friendly creatures were set against the volumes of books and, occasionally, peeked out from in between floral arrangements for an added touch of whimsy.
The delightful surprises and immersive experience for their guests continued with a watercolor artist on hand to create custom paintings of each guest.
Their playful take on decor was imbued with a regal tone, directly inspired by Marie Antoinette. Opulent guest seating was set with gold chargers and flatware, accented by mixed stemware that was vintage and modern, creating a grand dining experience for all who attended.
The final well-intentioned planning detail for Katie and Nick was their selection of florals. More than just selecting a complementary color palette to tie together their Broadmoor wedding in Colorado, the bride and groom selected lilies (their favorite flower) for their historical connection to French Royalty; often seen through the fleur-de-lis. Their florist created breathtaking arrangements that wove together rose lilies, honoring the symbolism of French aristocracy, along with a piece of Katie and Nick.
