Julie & Tyler are married! | Estes Park Wedding Photographer | YMCA of the Rockies Wedding

October 29, 2014

We arrived the night before Julie & Tyler’s wedding at YMCA of the Rockies ready to go and super pumped to be sleeping in our awesome bunk beds (cue Garrett throwing pillows at me all night.)

The morning of their wedding, clouds filled the sky and it began to drizzle, I love the feeling of cool mountain air hitting my skin.

Garrett and I started our day with the girls. We knew this wedding was going to be extra special, and with over 40 people in the wedding party. Julie put her dress on outside on the second story deck of the house they had rented for the weekend, and she was so relaxed and calm. Julie loved being outside, even with a few sprinkles,  she really allowed herself to take it all in. I think this was my favorite moment of the day.

We had so much fun and loved being outside with the Rocky Mountains as the perfect backdrop. We didn’t want the bride and groom to see each other during the portraits, so we had to think of creative ways to get everyone together. I love the image with the bridal party on 2 separate levels—it was a great way to get them all together without Julie and Tyler sneaking a peak.

I loved when Julie’s Dad kissed her on the cheek and took a moment to pray with her before the ceremony; it was special to me because they got to share that brief moment together before he walked his little girl down the aisle.

The reception was set up beautifully by Mark Christopher Wedding & Events, and the details were perfect. The threat of storms made for awesome skies, and the rain held off until the very end of the ceremony, when—of course—it hailed!

Thank you, Julie & Tyler, for having complete trust in us and being up for anything! We loved capturing your day.
