Emily and Ben were married in July with a ceremony and reception at Piney River Ranch in Vail, CO.
I love that the whole wedding party took a moment to pray together before walking down the aisle. It was special time to just take it in and really remember what the whole day is about.
After getting Emily in her dress we found that the ceremony was on a 30 minute rain delay. When the weather didn’t clear, everyone grabbed a umbrella, the rain poured, and it went on beautifully. In this case, the rain was a beautiful addition to this mountain wedding.
Rain coming down, them on the dock kissing—it was absolutely romantic—and I loved that Emily didn’t mind getting her hair wet. Emily and Ben were up for taking photos in the rain and going into the middle of the lake while the rain was pouring. Some of my favorite photos—ever.
The rain didn’t stop until it was time to turn off the music and go home.
A few details stand out to me: Ben wrote letters to Emily and kept them in a notebook which he gave her. I thought that was so sweet. And the custom cake topper of the two of them and their pup Bruno was so them!
Emily & Ben, thank you for braving the rain, but I couldn’t imagine your day any other way.
